Oasis Staff Spotlight: Melissa

Oasis Staff Spotlight:
Melissa Annunziata

Oasis Day Spa is excited to be welcoming back Melissa Annunziata! She was previously our esthetician and is now making her return as our new Skin Care Director.

Melissa received her Esthetics license in 2007, graduating from the New York School of Esthetics. She spent the next 6 years at Oasis Day Spa as an Esthetician, continuing her education in advanced aesthetic skincare specializing in anti-aging treatments. After moving into a management role, Melissa still continued providing skincare services to her regular clients while also training staff, focusing on customer service, and what makes a successful spa run.

Melissa moved away briefly with her husband to Maryland and worked with a luxury skincare line at Saks Fifth Avenue until returning to Westchester in 2016 and starting a family. She is super excited to be returning to Oasis Day Spa as Skin Care Director, and reconnecting with her old clients and all of her friends still here!

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness means being in touch with your mind and body, and understanding the importance of taking care of self. We are all so busy with our daily lives, that we often neglect to check-in with ourselves. Taking steps towards wellness doesn’t have to be drastic, but creating a routine is important to finding balance. Not everyone is the same so one needs to understand what it is that works to make you feel your best.

As an Esthetician, I’m lucky to be a part of my client’s wellness journey- our skin tells a lot about us and I have been able to evaluate issues by listening to a guests lifestyle. It reflects us from the inside out, and caring for ourselves should be your primary wellness goal.

Why did you get into Esthetics?

Aesthetics was an easy choice for me, I have always been drawn to helping others. From the moment I started my training I knew I had found my passion. As a teenager I had problem skin and would constantly look through beauty magazines (before Google was a thing!), to learn about different skincare products and treatments. My favorite was always the homemade mask recipes and the benefits of the treatments. As I embraced the business I found a love for the self-care portion of it too. My passion has been blending results-oriented treatments with a relaxing client experience and this continues to be the most rewarding part of being an Esthetician.

What is currently your favorite treatment at Oasis and why?

The Elemis Biotec Line Eraser Facial, which is power-packed with advanced anti-aging technologies paired with amazing skincare products. I love this because it gives you instant visible results and glowing skin. On top of that it just feels amazing and leave the spa floating. You see and feel the difference after just one treatment. Combining Lifting and Firming Microcurrent, Soothing, Collagen-Boosting LED Light Therapy, and rebalancing Oxygen Infusion- this all-in-one facial will give you truly radiant skin!

What’s Your Favorite Go-To Spa Products?

One of my all-time favorite products is the Eminence Organics Rosehip C+E Firming Oil. Packed with powerful antioxidants, it hydrates and firms without a greasy feel and it smells AMAZING! I love that it’s versatile where you can use it alone, or layer it under your moisturizer when you need extra hydration.

Another favorite is the Dynamic Skin Resurfacing Facial Wash from ELEMIS. It’s the perfect start to your anti-aging skincare routine. The enzymes in this wash breaks down dead skin cells to gently exfoliate and brighten. Your skin will be perfectly cleansed and ready to soak up your serum and moisturizer.

The GM Collin Charcoal Mask is another must have for detoxifying and purifying the skin. Made of bamboo charcoal, it’s perfect for smoothing and evening texture without drying out. I love using this as a weekly t-zone treatment to re-balance and refresh the skin.
