What does wellness mean to you?

The adage that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” rings as true today as it ever did. I believe wholeheartedly that wellness is achieved through a proactive balancing of body, mind and soul. A holistic form of energy healing, Reiki helps restore balance by going to the root cause of the problem whether it’s manifesting physically – perhaps as a pulled muscle – or emotionally, namely the all too common sense of being stressed out or overwhelmed.

Why did you get into Reiki?

24/7 news cycles and intense social media scrutiny – in our daily lives, we’re bombarded with the energetic equivalent of white noise. Now more than ever before, it’s so very important to take time out and unplug from the mayhem. I was attracted to Reiki because I wanted to bring greater peace and balance into my life and the lives of my clients. I love partnering with people and helping them to set their cares aside and unwind for an hour. The biggest compliment I can receive from clients is for them to fall asleep on my table.

What is currently your favorite treatment at Oasis and why?

I initially came to Oasis as a client. Over the last few years, I’ve sampled most of the services on offer. My current favorite is the 60-minute Elemis Biotec Ferm-A-Lift Facial with Sandra. The results are immediate – my skin looks tighter and better hydrated and my complexion brighter. And I especially love that the treatment technology helps build collagen – an alternative to pricey and painful Botox. The session just feels so decadent and delicious and relaxing. It’s my turn to fall asleep on the treatment table.
