What does wellness mean to you?

In our daily lives we tend to disconnect the body from our mind and soul whether consciously or not. We all have stresses, and sadness, and frustrations and resentment, and traumas that affect us deeply even though we may not feel the symptoms. Our bodies, mind and soul are intrinsically interconnected and depend on each other to function properly. Our skin reflects what happens to us internally.

I approach skin conditions and concerns from a results-oriented, holistic view and have been able to see amazing transformations on my clients from inside out. Being an Esthetician is almost like being a jack of all trades: I’ll be your therapist you can confide in, I’ll be your personal trainer, your nutritionist, we will laugh and cry during our facials and all of that is part of the healing process. Little by little helping to align mind, body and soul, manifesting through healthy skin.

Why did you get into Esthetics?

Since I was little, I have always had a passion for beauty and a deeper connection with people. I was about four years old when I started playing with makeup using my mom as a model every night! As I grew up, my fascination for beauty creams (or magic potions as I used to call it) continued to grow. As a teenager I loved to take care of my skin and hair and was diligent about my beauty regimen.

Later, I found a passion for acting and worked as an actress for many years in Brazil, my home country. This passion for acting was one of the reasons that brought me to NYC. While I toured with Shakespearean companies and performed other plays in the US, I realized I also wanted to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes of a movie/TV set. I decided to learn more about theatrical makeup and enrolled myself into one of the best Esthetic schools in NYC. The rest is history. It was love at first facial! I fell in love with the world of Esthetics and how complex the skin is. This organ, which is the biggest in our bodies, is full of surprises and curiosities!

My interest in Esthetics goes beyond the surface of the skin. It’s a life mission.

I help my clients understand and use the tools they already have within themselves to reflect on the outside who they are on the inside, with a little help of magic potions 😉
